Hotpoint WF321 Problem with door switch?

When Door was closed door closed indicator light was not coming on, tested switch and it was not switching. purchased new switch but it is not original.
light now coming on but will not allow door to open.
is there a wiring issue.

you have not indicated that it now washes but assuming it does give it a light thump around the catch before opening again as i would think its a poor aftermarket spare thats sticking
