Veritas 8c Alarm System blocked?

I have a Veritas 8c Alarm fitted and have realised this year that it stops working every 1st May, which means I then call out the alarm company who charges me £54 to press a few buttons and away we go all ok, after reading messages etc I realise the installer has put a maintenance code disabling the alarm every year. Can anybody help with info of how to sort this so that I never have to ring this guy again. Quite frankly I feel this is extorting money out of a single mum with 3 kids, not a happy lady!

How do you know if your alarm system has been blocked? I have recently moved into a property with a veritas 8c alarm. All the lights on the alarm system are lit but the code is not working.

no sir,i do not agree, its a con mans trick, and if you are a party this ,you should be ashamed, you must be desp, for money,we have much more respect for our clients, and would never leave then without their alarm system that they have paid their hard earned money for,we have lost a few maint contracts, but, when our clients get better finanace, they call us,so,i hope that you can sleep well,

Its not the way we work either gts, but unfortunately for the client that's business.

Me personally, the 3rd final lock out timer is unfair,

pointless, why render someones security useless,it also compromises their own safety,or has she been alerted by the timers for many days, prior to the lock out ?,.

Only the lady can answer that,.

in my books, any company who puts a service timer in place are crooks, they are making sure they get money from their clients,we never put timers on our panels,if a customer cant afford to renw their maintence ,then thats up to them,

You have a maintenance agreement in place?
This could be your reminder.
If not ask for the engineer code to be given to you.
There is also the insurance aspect, is it required to be maintained?
Once you can answer the above we can advise better.
As for thinking your being victimised for being a single mother with children, please grow up.
How many in your situation can even afford an alarm?

Lastly are you in or near Birmingham?

I agree, he is taking money for nothing, although you do need to have the system tested and batteries changed annually. Check here for the manual.

Are you aware that if you disable the service timer it will complicate any insurance claim, especially if your alarm has been declared,.

I trust you are getting a reduced premium.
