my bosch exxcel 1200 stopped working - tripped fuse. ?

I found the drain filter chamber was blocked with small objects (bits of toys etc), and removed them. Reconnected but no lights and I can't get it to run, although there is a faint water fill (?) noise when power is connected which stops when power off or control knob to off. Any ideas?
