Zanussi knob won't turn?

bit of a contradiction in terms,it works fine,but the timer not turn,it sounds like the stepping motor in the timer has died,this is a round unit that sits on the end of the timer,it can be replaced ,but you may have to search for one,if you cant get a motor,then you will have to replace the timer,try a wasginh machine repair shop,they may have an old timer the they can take the motor off,give them the model; number boff your machine,as there are two diff types of motor,hope this helps
