How can l reset my burglar alarm?

I have an old Lander Domestic 7 alarm system that my daughter activated on entry. She was not able to stop full activation of system. I recently stopped my maintainace contract with ADT as it was too expensive now that l have retired. I tried to reset the panel myself by removing the panel fuse and accessing the panel battery to remove its live connector. This did not solve the problem and l now have a green power light showing but cannot set the alarm with my code.

It's all about the tension and having a good set, including gigglers. You see these adds for pick and bump proof locks?,ain't true mate :)

All depends on how old it is, yes a new one takes longer than a used one due to less mech play, but I give it my best before the drill comes out :).

Even with my arthritic hands I can still pick a five lever, Yale or any euro style lock under 6mins.no need to drill unlike these lazy smiths today.

Can gain entry and shut any system down without any damage to property, so when the owner of the offending systems returns costs for our service is kept to the minimum.

Anyway I shut up now :)

Sorry gts remote reset what was I thinking of, the word I was looking for was remote servicing doh! :),cut down on the number of engineers visits (his words).

Thank god I still have a say on the smiths side of the business, tech is his thing and I still run the locksmith side, he ain't getting his hands on that!,technology isn't my thing gts,i can still remember getting to grips with my first laptop and the access programs for gateways programming etc.

All was so simple in the early days, technology has left me behind but i defo know the older panels :)

Years ago gts I told my eldest to carry on with the scanny range, but he did his own thing.

Galaxy vista and now the prem, that's his thing, I told him many years ago to continue with scantronic, did he listen did he fook.

I used to like getting out there having a laugh with customers and being there for them when required, son has his systems on remote reset, it's all done in front of a pc.

Not my thing gts :(

oh and buy a new battery too,a 7 amp if you go for
the 9651,or a 2.1 if you go for the 9448

gts

yes very easy to fit and programme go for the 9651 8 zone panel, you get engineering book with it,the sensors dont matter to the panel, when you kill the panel, mains and battery, the outside sounder may go off,not a lot you can do about it,just take careful note of ALL the wiring on your old panel,ie zone 1.zone 2 etc mark them with tape and right the zone number on it,plus mark the bell wire connections,be sure to remove the fuse from the spur unit that feeds the panel,i mean remove it,not just pull it out,if you take your time you will be fine, once all connections are made, fit the battery, the alarm will sound, key in 1234,then put cover on the end station, screw it up,then, and only then replace the fuse into the spur unit,y.this panel has a remote keypad, but if you want one with onboard keypad,go for the scanny 9448 its a 6 zone unit, easy to fit also,i hope this has been of help,if any bother come back, either myself or the rest of the guys will sort you out

Thank you for the advice gts. Would a Scantronic panel, be fairly straightforward to fit and be compatible with my existing system – front and rear door sensors, as well as three pir units?

gts
September 2012
Thanks for the quick reply gts. Looks like it will have to be a new system.

September 2012
you have opened the unit, now it needs the engineering code to re-set it,and since its an old adt unit, its prob prog for engineer reset ,in short, you now have no alarm system,
