clean heat exchanger vaillant ecotec 831?

hello,

can anyone give me a idiots guide to removing, cleaning and replacing a valliant ecotrec 831 heat exchanger?

we've got intermittant hot water due to the scale build up in the exchanger (my plumber mate cleaned it a couple of moths ago, but has gone on holiday.typical!), so i'm going to desludge the system and clean again.

download the vailant pdf online it will show u how to remove the domestic hot water heat exchanger (dhw) its not to hard just a few clips and spanner turns. make sure the cold water is turned of and drain the heating water out of the boiler it will show u in the pdf. once u have the silver heat exchanger in you hand heat a kettle of hot water, find a small bucket fill it with half a litre of senteniel x800 jetflo. then add the hot water from the kettle. now wearing rubber gloves insert the heat ex into the bucket allow it sit in there for 2 min shake a few times and roll in about a few times to loosen the debris inside. take it in and out allowing the water to leave the heat ex keep repeating the process. then just refit the heat ex and bingo your there good luck
