Mend Worcester Bosch Greenstar 28i Pump Replace Three Time

Why does the pump fail in my greenstar 28i?

I have had to replace the pump on three occasions, (last time August 2012) Each time it has gone short circuit, causing the mains to trip. The shaft is free to rotate and no other obvious problem. Supply polarity to pump and circuitry is correct. B/W unaware of any recuring problem. Any suggestion as to cause?
