freelander fuel pump?

under wheel arch looking in fuel sediment bowl to the right and on a clip fitting in front of the pump and filter it looks like another pump and it has 12v on the end I can see,is this another fuel pump there is wires and fuel pipes all connected,at the weekend freelander would not start called the AA he gave the pump a tap with a hammer and it started ,told it was a faulty pump but it looks to me as there is two in this wheel arch anyone advice on this
