Delonghi Dishwasher. Error Code E1.

Like Bill Miller, I've been kicking, shouting, swearing and pulling aprt my dishwasher trying to fix it. All to no avail...as you would expect.

However, I followed everyone elses advice, took the whole thing out, tipped it over, drained the water out and hey presto it works.

Just going through a quick cycle now (just an 11 minute rinse) and so far so good.

A machine will not defeat me!!!!

Thank you everyone.

I have a delongi DW47S/W and it came up beeping with E2 which according to my manuel says ...water drain problem. Could it be because the pump is not doing its job all of a sudden?

Yes you have a leak, I also in the beginning tipped my Delonghi DW67S/W dishwasher and it started to work only to stop working again, I have just had a technician out to look at mine. He found the plastic tubing at the back of the unit (not sure of the correct name) that sends water to the top spray arm is split around the thread which creates a leak and needs to be replaced.
I am so disgusted in this dishwasher I had the unit replaced by the company I purchased it from the very next day as the first unit wouldn't work (unit was brand new) the second unit I have had now for 2 years and 2 months, this will be the fourth or fifth time for it to be fixed, Delonghi gave me an extra years warranty as I complained. I have also recently been told from certain retailers that this dishwasher is not made in Italy but infact is a Haeir Model manufactured in China with Delonghi's name stuck on it. I will never purchase from Delonghi again!

im a appliance mechanic and sparky.
that is a flood fault. they have a float and microswitch under so that if the pan fills with water, power is applied to the pump so no more water can leak down there. this is the problem.
if you dont have a faultly micro switch YOU HAVE A LEAK! tipping the machine over drains all the water from underneath, itll fix it temporarily but you will have the problem again. if you cant find the leak. call a app mech.

Our DeLonghi DW47S did the same thing, and Bill's trick of laying it face down worked brilliantly! thanks!

Well I'll be. Just tried pulling machine out and laying it on its face as suggested and to my suprise we now have a fully functioning dishwasher.

The trick was in tipping it forward. the dishwasher has a failsafe against flooding. you need to get rid of the excess before it will work properly. this is done best by tipping I recomend placing lots of towels on the floor first though

I have the answer - just fixed it.
Phoned Baumatic - they said unplug it for 48 hours - I think that was to ensure that particular support guy was off shift. I'd already cleaned out the internal filter.
However nothing worked so in my frustration I went to disassemble it - only to find out how impossible that is. To gain access I tipped it on it's front (water and electricity turned off) and it dumped water all over the floor.
Now I'm not sure what happened - either the water leak, or maybe I dislodged something, but it works fine. I'd recommend anyone trying this lo-tech approach - though I'm not sure Baumatic would :)
The model I have is a BFD47SS

I was also wondering if you had an answer for this question..we have a DeLonghi DW67S that is doing exactly the same thing.

If I find anything out in my search I'll put the answer here!
