How can I get the primer bulb to pop back up for the next "pump"?

I've got a newish homelite ranger chainsaw with a pump primer bulb that has decided to stay in the pumped position rather than the full position. What can I do to get it to pop back out?

Sounds like you have a blocked fuel filter or the fine mesh gauze in your carb is restricting your fuel flow back to the fuel tank
