If an old Sterling glass cooktop clicks when other burners aren’t in use, it’s usually normal electronic switching as the control board regulates power. This is common on glass and induction-style cooktops. If the clicking is very loud or constant, clean the controls and surface, check pans are centered, and note that a faulty control board or sensor could be the cause. Similar control behaviour is explained in this cooktop manual (https://manualslibraryy.com/razorri-icg01a-comodo-electric-induction-cooktop-user-manual/)
