Mend Briggs & Stratton 10.5 Engine Lawn Mower Fuel

My Briggs & Stratton 10.5 engine will start but dies after about 15 mins?

My Briggs & Stratton 10.5 hp engine will start fine but dies after about 15 mins. I can restart it but it will die again 5 min later. Then I can't start it at all, until a couple hours later. Is there a thermostat on this engine? None is mentioned in the owners manual. What would be the cause? It has new gas, and I don't see any fuel filter.
