Is this a timing problem that requires engineer?

express My bosch exxcel 1600 which is usually run on the 15min. wash works fine until the last minute, then it carries on washing showing 1 minute on the timer. I then have to turn the dial to the top, and then down to the bottom of the dial showing rinse/freshen up, this takes a further 19 minutes, after which it spins out properly
