how to fix my wireless adapter on laptop?

Its hard to connect and when it does, it's only limited and no internet. Troubleshooting says the connection or assess point is broken

There's at least two separate steps in the Wireless link from your PS to t'Internet:

1) From PC to the router and
2) From router to the ISPs server.

Which is the problem?

Eliminate 1). You should be able to access the Admin (setup) page on the router. You may need to Google for the specific address for your router, but it will probably be something like 192.168.1.1 (the last two numbers: ".1.1" , may be different fo rspecific makes of router.

If you can talk to the router happily over Wifi, so well and good. If you can't, can you try a hardwired connection? Beg or borrow an Ethernet cable and connect to your roouter directly, bypassing the Wifi.

One way or another that will prove whether there's problems with the wireless link.

If there are issues, you could see if another device ( phone, via Wifi?) can connect. This would eliminate a particular device as the cause.

Is there anything interfering with Wifi? I had an issue once whereby the receiver of a Tomy baby monitor - the receiver, mind - somehow crapped interference all over the 2.4GHz wifi band. Although I could sometimes connect, there was too much crap on the wifi signal fro meaningful data. Simply turning off the baby monitor solved the problem.

OK, so assuming there are no issues between your PC and the router, the next step is the link from router to the ISP. Often times, rebooting the router can help. You can also check physical connections anc cables; whether wired phones are properly connected via filters.

Can you borrow another router to try?

Can you borrow another power supply for your router? (I once had an issue with a failing PSU - enough oomf to light the router lamps but it actually produced so much electrical noise the router repeatedly fell over)

Try to break the problem into discrete chunks or steps and work to eliminate each step

Good luck
