probably silly but hear me out?

Hi, on the flashguard alarm bell boxes twin piezo type 118db, they're is a tone select. fast or slow. They say the faster tone is louder and more intense close up, but the slower tone is slightly quieter and travels longer distances?. is this true or is someone pulling my leg?

thanks

Well if you want loud G then the blaster is the way to go especially mounted externally, but did you know you have to hold a permit if you have one fitted in Indonesia lol.

Good luck upsetting the neighbours ,

blw I have an extra psu so both are on sab

ps might throw in a master blaster for the hell of it, if it doesn't work. lol I know everyone loves them :) cheers

We don't use the flashguards but I can remember a takeover with two fitted ,one at the rear the other at the front of the property standard .
The sounder at the rear was set to the fast tone whilst the front was the slower.
Both was set at sab but standing at the side of the property the faster tone did sound louder.
Iirc they were both xl models.

Alarm engineers who install bell boxes are unlikely to be experts in the propagation of sound - and like you I do not believe everything I read - but I have no reason to doubt the things you report. What possible motivation would there be to lie?

Stokes' law of sound attenuation very probably applies.

Good Luck...

I have, but that does not answer the question I am asking. Also it wouldn't be the first time the "writers" have written something about a certain thing, that is not entirely true, is it?.

You would need to be a moron to believe everything you read.

So someone with knowledge on the question I am asking. ie alarm engineers who install bellboxes. would be appreciated. thanks.

Have you ever heard a motor vehicle with deep base audio - at a distance you can hear the thump-thump but not the higher frequencies. This may well have something to do with it - and anyway what motivation is there for the writers to pull your leg?

I appreciate the hear me out pun - excellent.

Hear - hear...
