Mend Hotpoint HVF433 Washing Machine Error Valve

Hotpoint HVF344 turns on but doesn't start anything?

Hi everyone, thanks for looking..
I have a Hotpoint HVF433 washing machine. It turns on - but that's it. I've tried every cycle/programme etc but it will not start doing anything as it should.
- I've changed the water fill valve at the back to no avail.
- No obvious water/locking error icons come up (I know this is common from my own Googling)
The machine will give a little beep after pressing start and that's it - nothing further happens at all.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

They are involved in letting water in but not the door lock. You may need a new module. We stock them at www.emwelec.co.uk You will still have the option of returning the module within 14 days for a refund (less our handling of £12) if it does not sort out the problem. Tony EMW Electronics

For whatever reason the machine appears not to be letting water in. That's why the washing programmes do not start.

The motor's carbon brushes may well be suspect but they're not involved in the entry of water as far as my logic carries me.

Cheers for the reply,

Machine won't start ANY programme - including spins. I don't get the water/lock errors, nothing happens after the usual beep when you press start button - no locking, whirs anything.

Thanks for the tip on the carbon brushes will try that

Craig, if you put it on a spin, will it bring the pump on ? If not, then I suspect that your motor carbon brushes have worn out. They are quite cheap and easy to change. Tony www.emwelec.co.uk
