How to stop pipe (or pump?) hum/vibration?!?

Hi all,

I have recently bought a 12 year old house with a Glow Worm Ultimate boiler and cylinder set up.

The pump and fan had to be replaced and now I have a hum/vibration from the pump, or the pipe the pump is located on! The pipe is held by two plastic "holders" (for want of a better word).

If I press firmly on the pipe above or below the pump, the hum is reduced. If I press the pump, the same happens. The normal hum can be heard throughout the house and is especially annoying in bed, as the cylinder is in the middle of the upstairs.

Is this normal? Is the noise from the pipes, and due to the slight vibrations the pump makes? Could it be the pipe oscillating against the plastic holders?

any ideas on how to resolve it are really welcome!

thanks. I figured it was the "holders" (clips, ta!) that might have been making the hum, so I'll either add more or remove, and report back how I get on.

most times its due to pipe not secured right. a pump should only have a very slight vibration. can you not try a few more clips.
