Iveco Daily 2002 2800cc Fuel problem?

Could you please advise, when starting my m2002 Iveco mini bus the red injector light comes on and it will stall but if I can get it past this stage and warm it runs like a dream, I have wondered if at cold start could it be picking up water in fuel filter and then when it is warm not picking up as much,
