Caulking to seal Rowenta Iron Water leak?

Which caulk is recommended to replace the existing caulk in a leaking Rowenta DW9030 steam iron? Is there a solvent to remove the existing caulk?

Just pulled my 3 year old Rowenta iron apart to fix leak. Scraped most of the calking off with just a small knife then cleaned the rest off with varsol. You then have to wipe down before you reapply new calking with rubbing alcohol. Just have to find the right calking, going to look for automotive calking.
