Mend Scantronic 9448 Security Alarm Tamper

Tamper won't go off?

My Scantronic 9448 had 12v at the pcb but the pcb and lights did not light up, so I replaced it with my spare, a completely new panel. All good, can program etc, except the tamper light comes on so can't set it. Loop the tamper terminals and no change. Just the single beep when I put the code in. Any idea folks? Thanks, Martyn

They both appear to work, i.e. click when closed and holding the unit sw in then trying to reset doesn't work. Martyn

Hi, The bell was unconnected originally, and now it is I have the same problem. I have a new 2.3Ah main battery and a 7Ah parallel as we have long power cuts here in South Africa. I brought them from GB when I moved here.

Have you checked bell tamper and or tamper on panel lid?
