lcd bulb replacement?

I have a sharp aquos lcd tv. Part of the picture has verticle and different colored lines, on part of the display. My guess is that the bulb needs replaced. Does this sound correct and how and where is the bulb?

I don't think it is the bulb. The bulb provides a white screen and if it were causing the problem that problem would manifest itself as a dark area on the screen or a completely black screen. As the bulb starts to go bad, the brightness decreases. How old is the set and have you talked to Sharp?
