CANNOT FIND NUMBERS ON MY BRIGGS AND STRATTON ENGINE?
DEAR SIR /MADAM
I HAVE A EARLY BRIGGS AND STRATTON ENGINE IT WAS OFF A CEMENT MIXER. AND IT HAD A DELCO GENERATOR MOUNTED ON THE SIDE OF IT. I CANNOT FINDE ANY NYMBERS ON THE FAN COWL. THE ONLY THING THAT I CAN SEE IS TWO LETTERS BS STAMPED ONTO THE FRONT OF THE FAN COWL I HAVE CLEANED THE WHOLE COWL AND HAVE FOUND NO NUMBERS .
If the generator is run off a large pulley that is bolted to the front of the flywheel, and the engine is a cast iron block the numbers should be stamped into the side of the blower housing on the carb side. The stamped numbers are easily hidden if the housing has been repainted. If it's a later production engine the numbers would have been on a decal. Is it by chance a 16HP single cylinder?
