ideal response 120 boiler?

I have an Ideal Response 120 which occasionally fails to detect that the burner is lit due to a water leak. As a fix it can be started by turning on and off the hot water about three times in a row, with about a 15" run and a 15" wait, this appears to give enough burn to dry out the flame sensor.

It is almost certain to be a sticking solenoid in the gas valve.
Boiler men hate replacing these, so will do anything possible to repair the symptom...without curing the fault.
I had this problem for 4 years. Had numerous other parts replaced, which did not cure the original fault.

Call plumber! I have a similar problem, boiler trys to light but goes straight out. Keeps trying but will not stay lit.
Upon inspection the heat exchanger is leaking into the combustion chamber and the damp stops the flame sensing electrode from sensing the flame and it cuts out!
The water also leaked down into the fan unit!
