How do I fix the lid switch on my kenmore washer?

The lid switch on my kenmore 70 series washer has come loose.
The brackets that the screws go in to have broken off.. I know that I need to get a new lid switch but how do i get to it....it is such a small space to get to. Do I need to take my washing machine apart to be able to get to it to replace? And if so then how?
