baxi back boiler - standard timer for heating/water not coming on?
my problem is that there is a fused switch under the timer that is usually lit and has now gone off. i have changed the fuse (5 amp) but the switch is still off so the time won't work. It also seems to affect the gas fire as this won't ignite or the fire backligh won't come on
check the mains fuse board, has one tripped?????
if not no power to fused spur.... unusual as normally wired with the ring (sockets)

Check the circuit breaker in the fuse box...... has one ttripped..
The symptoms you dicribe say there is no power too the fused spur...... if in doubt use an expert, remember electric kills
