Fan comes on by itself?

every time you close the door the fan comes on. Nothing else will come on when the fan is running. This new Whirlpool is only about three mths old

If the fan comes on for only a split second, that's normal.

If it stays on while the door is closed, that sounds like a door switch or mount problem.

Since it's under warrnty, I would definitiely contact Whirlpool at http://www.whirlpool.com or call 1-866-698-2538.
