How can I fix doors that don't close in an AIWA cassette player?

I have an Aiwa NSX-S777 music system whose twin-cassette doors don't shut and so cannot play any cassettes. Don't wish to buy another system just for this. I tried closing one door in a haste, heard a click and since then the door never shuts. The other door was tight to open one day so I forced it gently; again a click and it opened and has stayed open since!

you have broken the little peg on the right of the door which latches it. i suspect the reason you had to force it open initially is due to slack rubber belts on the mech. I'd get it to a tech , as it should be straightforward to fix - for somone with experience.
