Flashing lights on Ariston fridge/freezer?

this answer from "J" (in Stockport, back in 2009) solved my issue with the Ariston never-stopping blinking lights:

Just a quick note to confirm that I read the blog, tried turning the dials back to zero and then E (a few times) but it didn't work. On the point of giving up, I decided to just pull off the knobs, using pliers and then used pliers and a screw driver to turn the dials down and up again. Seems to have worked, as I now have just one central light and no flashing three. thanks for all the tips!:-)

I had the same problem.

If a combination of the replies below doesn't work check that the knobs are actually connected to the printed circuit board behind as mine had snapped off so weren't controlling anything at all!
Carefully pull the controls knobs off using a small pair of pliers, if they don't pull then they are still connected, if they come off easy they must have already broken like mine.

You can then turn both knobs fully down to the off or 0 position which stops the lights flashing, then back up to your desired setting.

The pipework within the fridge/freezer that circulates the cooling gas is blocked and requires unblocking and possibly re-gasing. The blockage will prevent warm air from being withdrawn from the freezer preventing it from cooling to the desired temperature. An engineer is required to carry out the work although I should say that the gas for Ariston MBA3832V is now obsolete therefore the fridge/freezer would have to be replaced.

This is the most useful Thread for an Ariston freezer ever! I knew the classic turn it on and off again fix would work but kept trying it at the plug. Just turned the freezer dial fully off and back on again. Fixed the issue. Thanks everyone!

Man this is the most infureating stupid fridge ever!!!
I have turnd the diles, pushed the buttens, opend and closed the door, turnd it on and off at the wall, with the nobs in all mannor of positions,
All i wanted to do was defrost the infureating thing, now it will not freez!!
phone the Arsston help line and all they could do was read thought the instruction book, that I already had

do not ever consider buying an Ariston fridge freezer!! if you do you will live to regret it.
and it was not a cheep fridge eather!

Hi,
I have a ariston fridge freezer, model mba 3832v..it has two flashing amber lights since this morning,have read the manual and followed their instructions but still flashing? not sure on what to do? any ideas

our ariston is a model mba 3832 (there is a plaque just inside the left salad tray), it has been beeping and flashing every 3-4 hours. The fridge works fine, however the freezer has flooded the kitchen and won't re-freeze. I have just read the trouble shooting above; i though that i had tried everything but i am going to try again tonight.

I'm still having problems with my Ariston Fridge/Freezer.... The lights will not stop flashing after i have turned the appliance off at the mains, turned it off on the appliance and turned it to economy on the system.

My freezer is only half freezing but the fridge works perfectly.... does anyone know how to fix the freezer part & flashing lights?

Ariston fridge freezer ERFV402DKT.
Same here defrosted it.now cannot get the freezer to work and cannot get rid of red bell light.I have tree dials first nos 1-5 second 0 and 1 only the third nos 1-5 can anyone help please

yup...ours did the same thing after we defrosted it...
( although it seemed to be working correctly )..we had all three lights flashing constantly...:(
...i "fixed" the flashing lights by first..turning the fridge off at the mains..second turning both dials to economy ( this resulted in the fridge making a ..beeping sound) . thirdly turning both dials.. fully anti-clockwise..to the off or zero position ( resulting in the fridge light bulb - going off).
Then lastly turning the dials back to our desired setting....(bulb light comes back on)
Now we only have the center green light on and NO FLASHING.
Hope this is of some help.:)

Yeah mine is suddenly doing the same and the freezer section has been defrosted but I cant get it to re freeze! There are no clues in the manual. My model which also has two amber and a green light constantly flashing is a ARISTON MBA 4033 CV and I think its died!! Oh no am I going to have to buy another?
