Once you have removed the door panel you will see a small electric motor at the rear of the door. Unplug the loom on the top of the motor, get a spare car battery and run a wire from each terminal to the motor side of the plug while holding the door handle open. If nothing happens immediately reverse the wires. The motor should cycle allowing the door to open. Leave the plug disconnected and you won't have any more trouble. The central locking will still work fine. Have done it myself and I am no mechanic, I found this information on another website (thanks Google).

Acutally it DOES matter which way round you apply power to the motor. One way will "CLOSE" the door the other way will "open" the door. If you get it the wrong way round you will know as nothing will happen. Take the power off quickly so as not to burn the motor out. swap leads and the motor will cycle through and pop the door open.

Apart from that this worked perfectly
Solved out door problem today with this.

Door has self closing electric assist that fails - remove trim from inside (take your time - the handle has a 'c' shaped clip holding it on, push door card away from handle and you can see how to flick it out sideways) Seated in the van looking at the door note the electric motor nearest the rear of the door disconnect the wiring plug. Place the door handle back on the fitting without the c clip. Using a spare battery and jumper cables, apply power to the motor side of the connector (two terminals does not matter which way round) at same time pull door handle as to open the door. The motor will cycle and the door will pop open. Leave the motor disconnected and refit all trim. Charge yourself at least $150 and have a beer, job well done. Self closing motor can be left inactive - silly idea anyway.
