how can i fix my electrolux 7000?

I have owned my electrolux 7000 canister vacuum for less than a year. It indicates that the bag is full, when in fact, I have just put a new bag in it. I will start then shut down. It will run without the hose being attached, but once the hose is attached, it shuts off. I have adjusted the dial control on the bag fullness level, which doesn't help. Any suggestions???

PUT YOU HOSE ON THE PART OF VAC WHERE AIR BLOWS OUT. GO OUTSIDE TO DO THIS. TURN ON YOUR VAC AND SHAKE THE HOSE. SEE IF YOU HAVE BLOCKED THE HOSE SOMEHOW AND ARE MAKING THE VAC THINK YOU HAVE A FULL BAG BECAUSE OF THE BLOCKED HOSE. :-)
