We've got extended cover on ours. An engineer came out and fixed it. Problem was that the heating pipe that runs through the frost creating bit was broken. He replaced it and its like the Arctic now.
Only problem now is that when the freezer dorr is closed, a whoosing sound happens and the a loud gargling sound.

I also had the same problem of the fridge not working yet the freezer was ok and fridge the alarm sounding on a regular basis.
Have followed the advise of others and defrosted the whole unit for a few hours and it seems to be working fine at the moment.
Thanks Guys..

Mine did the same. The problem was that the drain had become blocked, the water backed up and then froze and then the ice just overwhelmed everything and stopped the fan from running. Suggest you leave it switched off for a couple of days with the doors open and check the drain outlet. It's a small chute that runs into a bowl on top of the compressor. It twists and then pulls out. It can fill with jelly and - no drain- backed up water- ice - fridge no work.

you may need to defrost your appliance, could be a build up of ice stopping cold air flow.
