My Simpson dryer tumbles the clothes, gets very hot and then triggers the reset switch which stops it. It does not dry the clothes in fact they come out wetter than when they went in and there is moisture on the door. I think the belt may have gone, or the exhaust is not working. Does anyone have any suggestions. eg. what might be wrong or how to replace the belt.
Remove the black long plastic plate on the back of the dryer (One screw in the middle) and your belt has either come off or needs repalcement as it has snapped. The same thing just happen to me. I have been able to source a new belt for $17.
Good luck

Assuming the air vent is not blocked, I think you have answered your own question, I think the fan is not working, most likely it is a broken belt.
Power off and unplug
Remove dryer from the wall
Turn dryer around.
most dryers have the belt external so the should be a cover on the back remove the cover and have a look.
See how you go...
