Mend Hotpoint WM31A Door Light Start

door locked light flashing,machine wont start hotpoint aquarius WM31A?

Do I need to replace the door lock mecchanism?
It has been doing this for a while, but previously if you opened and shut the door a couple of times it worked ok.
Yesterday replaced the door seal and machine worked ok just once after that.
