Caravan cassette toilet flush?

Hi guys, have had the same problem with the Telford toilet in my caravan and after researching and reading everyone's comments found an answer which worked for me.
Lift out the toilet roll holder on top of the toilet in the caravan, remove the insert by twisting and lifting it out. You will see a small water tube directly underneath. Using a torch you will see a screw that retains the pump retainer, take it out carefully, careful not to drop it into the tank. Lift out pump carefully. once out use a pair of pointy nose pliers to move the impeller at the bottom of the pump... hopefully it will move. Try the flusher now??? if it spins there was your problem, dirty water and lack of use gums up the impeller. Use some WD40 to lubricate the impeller ( a few sprays and flushes should do the it) and job done!! just refit everything to where it belongs and you have saved a couple of hundred dollars at least. but do check fuses first.

i had this problem and the motor was stuck inside the toilet its a bit of a nightmare to do but it can be done

did you get it working as we have the same problem this weekend and checked the 2 fuses and it still doesn't work any ideas of the problem not sure if the pump is working

Thanks everyone. I contacted Thetford and have had reply asking for model etc. Mine is- Thetford Cassette Porta Potti 15 ltr flush tank and 20ltr soil tank. I have just e.mailed them details.
1/ Andy- yes checked fuse and got circut through also some type of oil ran out of the container.
2/ Len- Will do.

hi this may sound realy stupid but did you check the small fuse in the housing underneath the toilet because i've just had the same problems as you and a new fuse in the black screw fitting solved my problem hope this helps saves you some money cheers
