How can I fix my GE 900MHz model no. 26998GE1-C phone?

I can not get a dial tone on my GE 900 MHz phone, model no: 26998GE1-C. I bought a new battery and everything comes on but I can not remember what I need to do to get the dial tone? I hit program , entered 1 for english, 1 for tone, and my area code. What have I forgot to do?

I have the same problem. I found the line jack is not fitted securely into the phone socket. Shake the jack while listening the dial tone.

Have you checked the that telephone cord is securely plugged in at both ends (the wall jack and into the telephone base)?
