why my hazard warning light flash continuosly vauxhall vivaro 02?

i have a problem where my hazards started to flash all the time thus causing my battery to go flat i bought a new hazard warning light switch but problem still there but today looked at it again and found if you operate side lights or headlights the problem goes away and acts normal indicators work correctly hazards work correctly but the minuite you turn lights off the hazards start to flash again and the only way to stop them is to remove the 10 amp fuse which then cuts power to backlight on dash all indicators and immobilizes van please could sum 1 suggest a remedy

i have same problem with my renault trafic.even rear fog light dont work.
hazards stop only with head light ,than it is all ok.
any help..??

I cant tell you how to fix it.
But mine started happening after i dropped a ciggarette between the steering column and the dash, then had the bright idea to spray fabreeze down the gap.
so if you want to avoid this problem, stop smoking !!

board systems interface or multifunction unit behind dash area is probably faulty, seems to be a common fault

i have the exact same fault did you ever get it fixed what was the fault my van now does not start all the time hazards go on and off as they please lights on they stop unlock doors etc etc
