How can I replace the slasher cord on my GMC whipper snipper?

I have a GMC whipper snipper and I can't replace the slasher cord, can someone help me out?

Hey, Just to let you know, push in the side of the spool and pull hard,,loosen with a screwdriver if you need to... it should come off.
