WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY INDESIT WIL 103 WASHING MACHINE?

Hi my indesit 103 sometimes fills then imediatly empties again
ive got to start it again to get going
other times it continues to wash and wont drain
until i switch it to drain then spin
help most appreciated

I looked at the bottom of my machine amd there was nothing there the filter was clean

after a cycle has finished all the lighs flash and door dose not open

The washer will not fill with water, the pipes are straight the water pressure is ok in the house and the power button lights are on ?????

Most modern machines have a feature similar to this, or maybe the program selector knob clicking round. By FAR the most common fault is that the pump filter is blocked either by lots of little bits over time or something getting between the inner and outer drums. 'Colour Catchers' are devils for doing this. At the bottom on the front of the machine there should be a removable kick plate, normally just held by clips. Remove this. There should be (on most machines) a unscrewable filter behind the plate. Empty as much water from the machine as you can by putting the outlet hose into a bucket (or two). Then unscrew the filter. Get plenty of towells ready... There will be lots of water still to come out. Clean the filter and it's housing. Replace and hey presto (hopefully) your machine should be working again.
