Magnavox MPD850 will not charge?

This question was posted recently but has not yeilded an answer that works for me. Here's the previous post:

I am having a simlar problem. I haven't used the DVD player in a few months and it has been stored OFF. I plugged it in to charge (also OFF) a few hours ago and when I unplugged it and turned it on to check the progress... I got zilch, nothing, no response. I plugged it back in and turned it ON again and it works fine with AC power but the battery seems to do nothing. Any ideas?

Try cleaning the battery terminals (eraser, alcohol?) and making sure the battery is correctly seated. See if the power light comes on when you move the battery around in the holder.

Alright, odd thing happened. Just before I wrote this question I had removed the battery and put it back on. I plugged the AC in again to attempt a charge. I just tested it (about 20 min. later) and it seems to be holding the charge. I will re-post the question and probably contact Magnavox support if it happens again.
