Paul, it all relates to how heavy you are with the old left foot mate. If your a petrol head then you can expect the fuel consumption to be rather excessive.
If your a more conservative type of driver then I would suggest that you check the air filter and possibly the fuel filter, perhaps even spoil the car and book it in for a service.
