Over many years I have found that pretty much all of the absorption fridges that I've come across work better on gas than electricity. If you are using the fridge in very hot climates or on the odd occasion that it actually gets warm in Britain, then the addition of fans inside the back of the fridge moving the air around the 'radiators' at the back will improve things enormously. They can be bought for as little as 99p on Ebay.
