We have had this TV for a little over a year now it is just out of warranty and guess what it breaks down. On powering up the pi cture displays for about 5 seconds then disppears leaving only sound. I have also noticed an electrical arcing sound coming from the back of the TV. I opened it up and looked for obvious scorching from possible arcing components but nothing. The arcing noise sounds as if it is coming from behind the power supply board. Anyone any thoughts at a year old I don't really want to scrap it.
i need a step by step info on how to replace a shifter bushing.

If you are in England (Not sure about Scotland or NI) which reckon that a TV should last at least five years or it was not a merchantable quality when sold. Their view is that warranty or no a TV should not break after the short time that you have had it or it was not fit for purpose when bought. You should take this up with the retailer. I would write to the retailer's head office pointing this out and asking that it be fixed or replaced.
