Zanussi washer dryer WDT 1075 -washing cycle not starting?

I had a similar problem and was going crazy checking fuses and breaker switches and so forth and so on and finally I reached in and gave the tub a spin and pushed the on button and it started !!! Don't know why. I had just finished a load of clothes and the machine was working fine. I put in another load and the machine wouldn't start ..... until I gave the tub a spin.
