1999V Sharan/Galaxy?Alhambra 1.9 Turbo Diesel is Gutless!?

Have the above vehicle , 60k fully serviced with history. Can get 44mpg easily , BUT the thing is gutless ! Performance is rubbish ? Any thoughts please?
Also , occasionally liquid ( dark coloured , Oil ? ) can be seen dripping from front underside . Oil on Dipstick stays OK tho ? Amy Help would be appreciated!

it was the air mass meter - u were correct - got an exchange pattern part at £60.00, and fitted myself in 15 minutes !
SORTED !!!!. Goes like the wind now !!!!

Try the MAFF sensor (black cylinder approx 4" long 3" dia in line with the air filter) remove wiring plug, drive and see the difference - if none, then replace - it'll cost around £250 !! (mine didn't show up on the diagnostics)
