how do i take the nuts of a brake callipa?

on my Zafira the rear brake callipas are in two half one half has the pads the othere holds the inner calliper and prevents acces to the disc. so i need to remove the disc but can not get the large calliper of any one got an idea how i can do this as the nuts holding it have worn away from trying
