How to turn on Gas Oven for Caloric Heritage Series Gas Range?

I have recently moved into a new home. We have a Caloric Heritage Series Gas Range.

I have never used a gas oven before, and was wondering how the oven works, the oven dial is not readable. When I turn the oven on, I can smell gas, but cannot see a pilot light. Can you identify for me where the pilot light is supposed to be and whether I can use an appropriate lighter to ignite the oven?
