when i select programme and push start,there is a clunck and instead of starting to fill, it does nothing atall, could this be the bushes as machine is 5/6 yrs old.If i change the prog. when on it will still move the dial around until it comes back to original prog. but just stops?

Is there any water left in the machine? Is the clunking noise a metal sound? Also I do not recommend moving the programmer whilst the machine is ON this can cause the contacts to burn out on the programmer. If the brushes are gone on the motor this would not stop the machine filling up.
