kenmore 90 series makes noise when agitating?

my 90 series kenmore washer makes a skipping noise and agitator tries to move but vibrates a little. then within a few seconds it catches and agitates briefly, then begins to skip again.

If you're handy, you can also use a dremel and re-shape the ribs in the 'dogs'. I did that for the time being to be able to use the washer again.
