Lost drive on McCulloch CABRIO 246 Strimmer?

McCulloch CABRIO 246 Strimmer
Having got the strimmer tangled in some palm leaves something has broken - engine runs too freely and head will only rotate slowly. From inspection both ends looks like cable is ok.

Any ideas what has broken please and where can I purchase part.
