I have a 17 horse briggs with OHV that runs about 1 hour then shut's down like it's overheating. I have replaced the coil and it's better but still does it. It also smokes when starting now and it never did that until this problem happen. Runs great otherwise. Can you help me? Thanks Mark model 310707 type 0137-E1 serial 011211ZE
Are you sure it's NOT overheating? You need to remove the cowling and check it's not full of crud that restricts the (cooling) airflow. If that turns out to be the case, it will have had the effect of drastically accelerating the normal wear rate, explaining the smoke on start up (worn bore).
